The Retreat Play.
You, flown out. They pay.
Nobody in the UK runs a doctor-led residential menopause retreat. Luxury resorts worldwide are actively hiring visiting women's-health experts — flights and board covered. This is the plan to make you the name they book, on roughly three delivery days a month.
The gap, verified
Every menopause retreat in the UK — &Breathe, Bryn Tanat, the Norfolk farmhouses at £495–650 a head — is run by coaches, yoga teachers and nutritionists. Not one has a doctor who can assess, plan and prescribe. Meanwhile Harley Street charges £465 for a 45-minute menopause consult with no spa, no weekend and no aftercare. You're one of very few people in the country who can put those two things in the same room — MRCS MRCGP, Clinical Director of a CQC-registered menopause clinic.

The money
Five lines. £100k stands even if one whole line fails. Benchmarks: UK keynote market £1,500–7,500; resort day fees £1,000–1,500; our own retreat margin modelled at 12 guests × £1,295 against real venue and bloods costs.
| Income line | Volume / year | £ / year |
|---|---|---|
| International residencies (fee only — flights & board covered) | 5 × £6,000 | 30,000 |
| Own-run Peak District clinical retreats (margin) | 4 × £9,400 | 37,600 |
| UK spa-hotel hire-ins + corporate menopause talks | 14 × £1,800 | 25,200 |
| Co-branded group trip abroad (agent-sold, e.g. Sri Lanka) | 1 trip | 12,000 |
| Patient tail — retreat guests into ongoing clinic care | ~48 women | 12,000 |
| Modelled run-rate | ≈35–40 delivery days | ≈£117,000 |

- Venue sourcing, bookings, guest logistics, bloods coordination
- Marketing, waitlists, travel-agent relationships
- Programme management on-site at residencies
Regulation, straight
Abroad: CQC does not apply. CQC regulates activity carried on in England only. A residency in Thailand, Sri Lanka or the Maldives is entirely outside its scope.
Group education is not a regulated activity — even in England. Seminars, workshops and anonymous Q&A don't touch CQC. It bites only on individual diagnosis, treatment and prescribing.
Overseas, the real line is licensure, not CQC. GMC registration doesn't cover clinical practice in another country — so international work is education-format by design. Guests wanting treatment book UK telemedicine follow-ups with the clinic.
UK clinical weekends stay CQC-clean by delivering the 1:1 consults through the registered clinic (pre-retreat video or in-clinic), with the weekend itself as the education-and-wellness wrapper.
One check before anything is sold: confirm MDU/MPS indemnity covers overseas educational activity. It routinely does — but it gets confirmed in writing first.
Three decisions
Nothing has been sent to anyone. This starts only when you say so.
Green-light the first outreach batch
Six pitches: Kamalaya, Six Senses, Amilla, Healing Holidays, Jumeirah/Zulal, Hoar Cross Hall. All drafted for your review before anything is sent.
Make the indemnity call
One conversation with MDU/MPS confirming cover for overseas educational work and UK retreat-adjacent clinical work via the clinic.
